Introduction
with the introduction of these new regulations Advanced Cladding and Insulation Group Ltd. have introduced a range of products to help answer and overcome the problems of cold bridging. Primarily these are intended for use in Insulated cladding and roofing applications, however, their use extends far beyond these applications. The products can be usd to effect, throughout the whole range of building types and alternative constructions.

The Admaster range incorporates FM and LPCB approved insulation products in a varity of thickness and in sizes to suit most applications. LPCB site applied AlfasBond fire rated canister insulation which fills those gaps brought about by the complexity of site construction and tolerance, forms a major part of our Insulation plan and is available from stock. Butyl Mastics and strips complete the range and are used primarily at the point where metal to metal joints are otherwse unavoidable.

THERMAL BRIDGING AVOIDANCE.
The regulations introduce the need to take account of thermal bridges around the openings and through junctions. They suggest that the bulding envelope should be designed and installed such that there are no significant thermal bridges or gaps in the insulating layer of the main elements and the joints and edges of those elements. This is most relevant at the main construction joints such as the Eaves, Apex, Verge, Gutters, Cills etc. All areas which can be insulated and sealed using the Admaster range of products.

It is a requirement of Part L2 and Part J that the designer considers both the risk of condensation on each individual thermal bridge and the effect of the increased heat loss as a contribution to the total heat loss from the building. All metal cladding systems and their junction details incorporate these bridges to some extent and the varied nature of the systems used means that the "robust details" and calculation values required to comply will be specific to each individual manufacturered system. The specified system manufacturer's literature and techinical information data should be considered in each individual application.

ADMASTER L2 Insulation Strips are supplied wrapped. On site, the strips should be stored clear of the ground on a clean level surface, under cover, to protect them from moisture or mechanical damage. Strips should not be stored in areas subject to elevated temperature or adjacent to sources of ignition. The whole range of ADMASTER products is endorsed by specialist cladding manufacturers, and major Roof Sheeting and wall cladding contractors.
